After delivery, make sure you check the water level in the vase. Make sure its filled to the brim! If you've received an arrangement that's arranged in floral foam, you can just add fresh water to the foam to make sure its fully hydrated.

After a day or two, lift the flowers out of the vase and trim a half inch to an inch off the bottom of the stems with a sharp pair of scissors. That forces your flowers to absorb more water, and the more hydrated your flowers are, the happier they'll be!

Also, its best to change the water in your vase every other day or so. Fresh water will keep the bacteria to a minimum which contributes to your flowers lasting longer!

And lastly, please make sure your flowers are displayed in a cool location. Direct sunlight will make them wilt, as well as sitting near a heating vent.

We are asked often, "Can I put my flowers in the refrigerator?" You can, but there is a couple of things to consider first: the optimum temperature for flowers is between 36-39 degrees. If colder, the flowers will freeze. Also, if you have any food in the refrigerator, that can impact the freshness of flowers. Even cut up fruit in a baggie can cause problems, because of the ethylene gasses they emit!
